As fall finally arrives and we escape the heat dome that’s been covering our farm (well, not just us, not taking it personally, but still) and the usual Aug-Sept drought, it’s time to enjoy some good reads.

Shane and the Hitwoman, my follow up to Agnes and the Hitman is free for the next couple of days.

I’ve listed several of the free books already. There are a couple of others. The Preparation and Survival Guide is essential for those who want to be better prepared but don’t know where to start. From the first page you’ll be better prepared. Seriously. I think we all understand a little bit of preparation goes a long way. I’m currently talking to a company about putting in battery backup and solar in the house; I’ll let you know how that works out.

Atlantis is the first book in that classic series.

Equinox is a Time Patrol book and I think pretty interesting given the missions in it. What happened to Nathan Hale? The Berlin Airlift, which I personally think one of our country’s proudest moments? Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation? Joseph Smith and the gold plates? And more, of course.

On the publishing front we are finally wrapping up Arresting Anna and will have it out probably on the regular pub date of 2 November. The good news is it will be followed before the end of the year by a novella, Getting Carter. And since we have a good feel for the characters and have written a bunch, the next book in that series, Stealing Nadine will be out in early 2027.

Also on 2 November will be the second book in the Green Beret Survival series, Deep Winter. It’s been really interesting taking a deep dive into how things will really be when civilization collapses. I used to scoff at those who hoarded toilet paper but it turns out that for over 2 dozen people in a cave, it’s kind of important. Deeper though, are the hard and ruthless choices that have to be made for survival. I’m already outlining the third book, New Year which I’m hoping I can have out on the New Year, but that might be cutting it tight.

So busy, busy. Nothing but good times ahead!
