A new chapter in the Area 51 series comes out today; Empire Falls, but it’s actually a prequel. A novella set well before the start of the first Area 51 book. It’s about the first Earth Empire, the Imperium, that was destroyed so completely there’s not a trace of it that we’ve found. More specifically it’s about how the Ancient Enemy came to life and began forming the Battle Cores. It’s a quick read and you don’t need to have read the rest of the Area 51 books to enjoy; although the first book in the series, Area 51, is on sale all month.

Also on sale this month is Nightstalkers, one of my favorites, which I pitch as The Unit Meets Warehouse 13. It’s first in series. Also, the first true Time Patrol book, Black Tuesday is on sale all month.

The pre-order for the third Green Beret Preparation and Survival novel, New Year, is now live. I hope to have Deep Winter out soon.

Between the horrible disaster in Nepal and what happened in the Grand Canyon, please remember that water is powerful. When my A-Team was training to go to the Royal Danish Navy Fromandkorpset Combat Swim School, we camped on an island off the coast of Maine and hit the water every day. To teach us how powerful a current is, my team sergeant had us try to swim into the mouth of a river. It was disconcerting to be finning hard in one direction while actually being pushed in the other.
